VOLUNTEER
The Food Bank relies on more than 500 volunteers every year to
fulfill our mission. Our various projects offer ways for individuals
and groups to contribute their time, talents and resources to
the community. The Food Bank is open Monday through Friday.

Frequently Asked Questions for Volunteers:
Q: How many volunteers does the Food Bank need?
A: Over the course of a year, more than 500 volunteers give time
to the Food Bank. Any given day, we typically have five or so
volunteers working with our staff.
Q: Can I bring a group?
A: Our volunteer projects can accommodate groups of various sizes.
We ask you to schedule the project at least two weeks in advance.
Q: Can I volunteer one time or do I have to make a longer commitment?
A: Some volunteers come on a regular basis; others come for a one-time
project.
Q: Can children participate?
A: Volunteering is a great way to teach children about service
and to spend quality time with them. All children under the age
of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Q: What if I need to cancel?
A: Please contact our volunteer coordinator as soon as possible.
Q: Does the Food Bank have videos or educational materials available?
A: Yes, we have several excellent videos and will be happy to make
other materials available to your group.
Q: How should I dress?
A: You will be working in a warehouse environment. You will need
to wear sneakers or athletic shoes that are closed toe. In the
summer, shorts and sleeveless shirts are fine (no tank tops or
halter tops, please.)
Q: Can I use your conference room for meeting space before or
after our project?
A: Ask our volunteer coordinator to reserve the conference room
if it is available.
Q: Are there
age limitations?
A: Special arrangements need to be made for children under 16
years.
